If it's hosted in Australia, you'll need a godlike connection to play fine (unless you do live in down under). For the other questions, same answer. I have a mediocre internet connection, but I'm able to play on some servers with a good ping (70), but on others I can't get below a 200 no matter how hard I try.
Windows 10 will not let me download chrome. Welcome! Before you play online, please read through the rules:
- Don't cheat or try to install any unauthorized mods.
- Don't grief, troll, spam or trashtalk other players when you play online.
- We let you try Minecraft for free without any guarantee on its functionality.
- You'll download Minecraft automatically onto your computer from the official Minecraft servers via Java. We are not responsible for any potential damages that may occur from playing the game.
- You may only use this game strictly for educational purposes.
- We have the right to change our rules any time. It is your repsonsibility to check the rules regularly.
By clicking the button below to play Minecraft free from your browser, you acknowledge that you understand these rules and will obey them. If we find you breaking any of them, we will issue a permanent ban.
- Local network is the same thing as lan mode. Lan = Local Area Network. In this mode most games scan for server broadcasting on a port defined for lan play. This port is normally different from them port used for online play. User of lan mode have to be connected to the same network either by wire or wifi. As the game broadcasts to your home networks. I don't believe you have to be friends to.
- Ontop of all of that, you do not get any of the benefits that come along with server hosting such as 24/7 support, one-click modpack and gametype installations, the ability to create a public world that anyone can join, and much more. However, if you want to play Minecraft with friends on Xbox, PS4 or Switch.
It should be noted that these suggestion presume default settings in server.conf - i.e., a Draw Distance no higher than 10, and is also based on a new world; the bigger the world gets, especially if there's advanced redstone circuitry at work, the requirements - especially the RAM, or in the case of lots of redstone or mobs (in e.g. grinders), the CPU - increase significantly (to the point where a major world with several camps, redstone machinery, grinders, etcetera can easily more than double the requirements). How Do You Minecraft Free
User Grade[edit]
- 1 player ~ 50-100 MB of RAM - on its own, but in practicality, it will always pull more, if it's e.g. in different chunks, moving through chunks very quickly (e.g. on a boat, via rail or flying with elytra); the player object as such won't use/drain more RAM, but it will effectively lead to significantly more RAM being used by the server if it's doing anything besides standing perfectly still somewhere.
Win NT/2K/XP[edit]
- Note that these requirements are for the server only you will need to allocate more resources to the OS!
Requirements | Players | CPU | RAM | HDD | WAN Up | WAN Down | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Minimum | 1-2 | Intel Pentium 4 2.0 GHz or AMD Athlon XP 2000+ and better | 1 GB | 2 GB empty space (5GB if you are doing frequent backups) | 3 Mbit/s | 2 Mbit/s | (Minecraft Servers can barely, but still run on a 1Mbit/s upload connection. The server will miss ticks with this hardware-configuration.) |
Acceptable | 3-5 | Intel Core-Based CPUs or AMD K8-Based CPUs and better | 3 GB | 10 GB empty space | 6 Mbit/s | 3 Mbit/s | |
Recommended | 5-7 | Intel Core-Based CPUs or AMD K8-Based CPUs at 3.4GHz or higher | 5 GB | 18 GB empty space | 8 Mbit/s | 4 Mbit/s | |
